George Saa dan Kondisi Bangsa Papua di dalam NKRI

Amerika di mata saya adalah land of immigrant. Sekarang lebih di kenal land of freedom atau land of the braves. Sekarang dia menjadi negara adidaya.

Orang Papua ingin solusi damai. Mengapa?

Use your imagination to treat your reality in a different way.

AN elderly woman was tortured to near death in Gazelle’s Reimber-Livuan in East New Britain in a sorcery-accusation related violence (SARV) in February.
New Guinea Islands commander Assistant Commissioner Perou N’Dranou said police rescued the woman who had been in the hospital until recently where she was kept in an unknown location for her safety.
“We could not investigate immediately due to her traumatised state,” he said.
“She is not communicating with police yet. We are using third parties to communicate with her.”
N’Dranou said the identities of the torturers were known and when the woman and her family members “feel safe”, then they would be helping police in investigations.
“The woman needs an expert to look into her welfare as she is still traumatised,” he said.
“Like all sorcery allegations in Papua New Guinea, the grieving family members of the deceased vented their frustrations on the weakest member of the village.
“In this case, the old woman was tortured.”
An elderly woman from Vunaiting ward in the Ramalmal area of Gazelle’s Reimber-Livuan local level government in East New Britain was tortured by the group of men because they suspected her of practising sorcery.
According to a relative who wish to remain anonymous, the torture occurred in February.
“The torturers forced the woman to confess that she was the one who used sorcery to kill their relative,” the relative said. “The police were alerted and a police unit from Rabaul rescued her.”
In Port Moresby, National Capital District governor Powes Parkop said elected lawmakers must address gender-based violence (GBV) and SARV woes in the country.
“Therefore, political parties and election hopefuls for the coming 2022 general election must state their stand on the grave long-standing social issue that affects communities,” he added.
Speaking in a media conference called by the Papua New Guinea Council of Churches and the Special Parliamentary Committee on GBV yesterday, Parkop said those contesting in election should include addressing GBV and SARV issues as their priority agenda for governance.
He said those elected in the election should not allow themselves to be pushed around in Parliament but instead fight for solutions on challenges faced by communities.
“They should also have a clear understanding of the economic, social, health, youth problems, the infrastructures and human rights issues,” he said.

West Papua is part of PNG

2022 NGE - It is here. After 10 Parliaments of independent and sovereign PNG, we begin to count the costs.

West Papua is part of PNG.

Late Fred Mambrasar coined the Papuan world - view called ' Sorong - Samarai in order to escalate a clear foreign policy prescription on West Papua.

2022 NGE happens in days time. Prime Minister James Marape raised the West Papua issue at the 76th UN General Assembly session last year, 2021.

This year, 2022, PNG on Prime Minister James Marape's watch signed 31 MOUs with Indonesia to increase the content of PNG/Indonesia bilateral relations.

The closest West Papua got to in the internationalisation of the independence struggle on PNG soil was at the MSG Leaders Summit held in Port Moresby, 2018.

We congratulate Prime Minister Peter O'Neill for the high definition of Melanesian consciousness as it peaked, and awakening cascading clearly into the future.

ULMWP President Benny Wenda attended alongside other Heads of States from the 6 Melanesian Spearhead Group or MSG member countries.

Wenda was given Head of State protocol treatment in his own right.

Late Fred Mambrasar was optimistic the script could be escalated better, with PNG leading the way from 2018 into the future.

PNG's 11th Parliament commences in August, 2022. It is 3 months away. The political system in the country gets a new leash on life, regenerated.

West Papua is in the same house.

Least we forget. Papua tetap merdeka.

Six sorcery killers jailed 40 years eachApril 4, 2022The National Main Stories

By CLARISSA MOI

THE National Court on Thursday sent a strong message and warning to those involved in sorcery-related violence when it jailed six people 40 years each for killing a father and his son in Northern three years ago.

Acting Judge Camillus Sambua jailed Cameron Jovu, Mike Jofo, Clenty Orotu, Branden Asiko, Andrew Sariko and Jesse Akuma, all from Ambene village in Kokoda, for the murder of Bartholomew Umbu and his son Siko.

The six killers had accused Umbo and Siku of practising sorcery.

Defence lawyer, Emmanuel Yavisa, from the Public Solicitor’s Office submitted that his clients be jailed 20 to 25 years as sorcery was a mitigating factor.
However, state lawyer Solomon Kuku argued that sorcery was not a mitigating factor as it was based on assumptions and not facts.

Kuku submitted that a term of 30 years to life imprisonment should be imposed as the circumstances were quite gruesome with disregard to human life.

Judge Samua then jailed all the six 40 years each.
“Life is a gift from God.
“It should be kept sacred as it is very precious.
“The act by the six accused are barbaric with no regard to life,” he added.
Jovu will serve 40 years concurrently for two counts of murder.

Mike Jofo, Clenty Orotu, Smith Asiko and Brendan Asiko, for one count of murder, while Jesse Akuma and Andrew Sariko, for two counts of murder.
A total of 18 people were believed to have been involved in the sorcery-related killing.

Eleven were acquitted on Tuesday.
Those acquitted included Emmanuel Koviro, Humphrey Konene, Bobby Jovu, Timothy Jofo, Howard Pou, Zebedee Akuma, Frank Johnson, Loide Koiko Sawa, Smith Ariko, Tadiu Roko and Robert Jovu.

Why "Morobe Block" in NCD?

By Alexander Palai

Out of 22 province in PNG only one (1) province, and in only one City - the City of Lae were Papuans welcomed & land area specifically located, and dedicated & even called "Papuan Compound" for Papuan family to settle down & proudly educate thier children. Some of the prominent sons and daughters of Papua were born, bred & educated in Papuan Compound's own Milfordhaven Primary School, Bugandi & Busu High School. Prominent Papuans like, Wari Vele, Howard Lahari, Vai Kereva & many other big names were born and bred right there at Papua Compound.
In appreciation of that historical fact, another great son of Papua Late Sir William Skate who visited and spent weekends at Papuan compound while studying at Unitech, in consultation with other other Motu Koitabu leaders, earmarked, formally allocated and facilated 7 parcels of land (Agriculture lease) here at 9mile in NCD for Morobe families to settle down (not for free of course). That was a historical reciprocity.

Frank Makanuay; First time MPs

Hindsight is a beautiful thing but it's application being used by everyone making assessment on LBS shooting incident, the murder charge, and the denial of bail, firstly by Police, and later by the National Court only pinpoints to the gravity of crime itself and the discourse only brings out the horrifying tragedy on both sides, and their families, that if a simple common sense had prevail, some maturity or wisdom applied to descalate whatever tension that preoccupied the meeting, which in the end forced a Glock Pistol to be introduced into the meeting and conversation, all of this could have been avoided.

The beauty of Hindsight makes you assess this horrifyingly ugly situation.

This brings to a point I have tried to discuss on my page a few times but it never became a subject of interest by those who follow me.

First time MPs, power, fame, and fortune.

In all honesty I think, if LBS was to live his life again, I am positively sure the only thing he would change is the last few months in his life after he became an MP. I am sure as he sits in jail, in remand as he awaits the Court hearing, he is thinking and making his mind over with pangs of regret, that he should surrounded himself with mature people to guide him in his leadership role representing his Motu Koita people.

Sudden power and fame, can make a First Time MP feel invisible, untouchable, and entitled. They can easily get caught in the bubble of big men mentality, get drunk in the powerful euphoria of fame. It is easy to forget reality and where ones humble beginning began, if one is not grounded but floats with the new found power and fame, rubbing shoulders with some of the most powerful people of the country.

Another important consideration.

The pressure of being politician in the Png context is about money. People who help a budding politician in PNG to ascend to power and hold office as an MP, expected to be paid. They will forcefully attached themselves to and some of them will genuinely help you, but it hound ne er escape you that behind it all, they want money. They will ask, and demand politely at first, and when the response is not favourable they will make threats and intimidate.

Sometimes a First Time MP who is enjoying the euphoric drunken bubble of power, fame and fortune will arrogantly ignore this and react by trying to display their own power, fame and connection, and owning a gun, holding it in your hand gives takes the fear out of you, and respect out of you, it makes feel you feel invicible, untouchable and it gives you the feeling of entitlement to power.

First Time MPs, power, fame and torture.

Throwing a cat among the pigeons, this country has been run in the last three years by First Time MPs holding senior economic portfolios in the Cabinet. We are in deep recession. You work in out.
